Future Outlook
Increased Research & Adoption
Research in using AI-enabled education tools have received more funding and attention lately. AI in education market was valued at $1.1 billion in 2019 and is projected to reach $25.7 billion in 2030, with personalized learning as the major driver (P&S Intelligence, 2019).

Future Outlook
Improved Data, Mobility, and Functionality
Combined with other AI solutions, like voice recognition and computer vision, adaptive learning systems can become more user-friendly and have better tutoring abilities. Additional sensors such as facial recognition can provide even more student data for better personalization. Maybe adaptive systems can evolve so that it's no longer limited to learning on the specified platform. Through development of advanced algorithms and diverse content, adaptive learning systems will evolve as well.
Equalizing Education
Education resources are more limited in some regions than others. For countries with standardized exams, students in less well-equipped schools have less opportunities to out perform more affluent areas with more teaching resources. Adaptive learning allows students in these areas to access a better education.
Summary
AI is quickly emerging in all sectors, and education is no exception. Adaptive learning is a proven application of AI in education and has great potential in helping provide personalized education. Using adaptive learning systems, students can quickly improve their skills through targeted cognitive apprenticeship. It helps students access quality, individualized education content anywhere with a device and browser. However, this technology has some limitations and cannot replace the value human teachers can add through emotional support and encouragement. Current trends shows a preference for blended learning where teachers and technology work together.

"The greatest adaptive mechanism is the classroom teacher. The data the tool provides should be used to provoke instructional changes
in the classroom."
